Coming to a Close

Another school year is coming to a close this week. Another school year of substitute teaching is nearly in the books. I did do a maternity leave position for several months in a middle school, but for the most part, all my jobs have been at the upper elementary level.

I am currently planning on substituting again next school year. Once again, I’ll likely focus on upper elementary grades. I have done a handful of jobs this year in the lower elementary grades, but I have to admit, it’s a bit of a stretch to do that on a consistent basis.

And so as the last days of the school year are upon us, I celebrate the end of my forty-fifth year in the classroom. Much has changed over the years, but I still have teaching in my blood. That much I know.
