I’m going to miss you when you’re gone…
I heard this song on the radio this morning as I was running some errands….I like the way it sounds, but also the message it conveys. I’m reminded that most everything in this world is just on loan….for a day, a week, a month, a year or longer. It’s not up to me to say how long something is a part of this journey called life.
James Hersey – Miss You Lyrics
Show me
What it means to be yours
What it means to be more, more
What it means to be more, ah
Show me
What a difference you make
What a word that you say now could mean when it’s over, and it comes time for change
Cause I’m gonna miss you
I’m gonna miss you when you’re gone
I’m gonna miss you
I’m gonna miss you when you’re gone, ah
Show me
How to get what you give
How to let go and live, live
How to let go and live, ah
Show me
What a life this could be
What a promise you make now could mean when the day comes, that everything you see
Is without me
Cause I’m gonna miss you
I’m gonna miss you when you’re gone
I’m gonna miss you
I’m gonna miss you when you’re gone, ah
Cause I’m gonna miss you
I’m gonna miss you, ah
I’m gonna miss you
I’m gonna miss you, ah
I’m gonna miss you
I’m gonna miss you
The song also reminds me of one of my favorite chapters in the Bible: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
A Time for Everything
3 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
#23 to start the day….
Bird on a Feeder
Mainly just testing to see how easy or difficult it is to post a picture using my computer. This picture was taken on Friday. It’s taken through a window screen, which accounts for the lines across the picture.
The Time before Dawn…
Life without the Book…
It would seem that my second day staying away from FB has been more difficult than the first. Lots of those minutes of today would have been filled with scrolling on the FB news feed or posting pictures of this and that. But it hasn’t gotten to the point where I’ve really seriously considered going back.
Last night I saw a pictures of a really awesome gas pump and instead of posting it on FB, posted it here instead. This was a test of sorts to make sure I could indeed post pictures that I’ve taken. I actually used the WP (WordPress) app share that picture and it’s a lot easier to do than it is with FB.
So what have I done with those minutes? A.) I cleaned up around the house for starters,,,no, it’s still not done, but I put a big dent in it. B.) I went to a meeting of like-minded friends and stayed afterward to talk C.) I went to one of my favorite haunts for lunch and saw a friend I hadn’t seen in quite a while. D.) I watched about an hour of television…I admittedly am not a big fan of the tube, but did find some interesting shows to watch E.) I took a short nap…lol F.) I had an appointment with my ortho doctor,,, a return visit in six weeks
Not that I wouldn’t have done any of these things if I still was a part of FB world, but I paid more attention to what was transpiring as the day went on. I’ve also started reading more and indeed, have started reading a good devotional book that has taught or retaught me two important lessons: A.) The trials in our lives shouldn’t be complete surprises….they help to build our faith and make us stronger emotionally B.) It’s a good idea to start out one’s day with talking to God in devotion and/or prayer….I’ll have to really remember this one tomorrow morning…I’m subbing for a teacher whose class is going on a field trip…oh my!!!
All in all a pretty good second day…and there are still over seven hours left to go.
