The city I live in, Hickory, North Carolina, is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. At present, our city is not too large (say, like Charlotte), not too small,,,I would say just the right size.

I am involved in the recovery community and attend meetings on a weekly, sometimes daily basis.
