12 Days Away….

Today marks the twelfth day away from the world of FB.  I have found, as I said before, it’s been a lot more difficult than in past years I’ve done the same. A big part of that is due to the fact I think it was taking up more and more of my time than in the past.

There are some things about it that I truly don’t miss….the endless political rants.  In fact, I can’t really tell you what’s transpired on the political front since the President’s State of the Union Address.  I also don’t miss a lot of trivial status messages and comments people would have on big ball games and the weather and such.  I do actually know that Duke won the ACC tournament and that the snow we had this morning didn’t stay around very long without the aid of social media.

But there are some parts of FB that I truly do find it more difficult to do without. Daily communication with friends I’ve made is probably the biggest.  Yes, there are other ways to communicate, but the FB messenger seemed to work best of all.  I also miss sharing the pictures that I take and some of the daily events, like my new job, that I would share with others and almost always get at least a comment or two.

So the hiatus continues….it’ll be one month and three days from now, April 15th, when I rejoin FB world.  I haven’t seriously considered going back on my promise to stay away, but I have lightly considered staying away once the time is up.  I’ve been able to do a whole lot more soul searching with my mind less-crowded with all that is FB.  We’ll just have to see.

Until then, I’ll continue to take pictures to share, 23’s will still come my way, and most importantly, I’ll still be me.
