My fascination with numbers, which I relate to my time as a middle school math teacher, has led me to many interesting thoughts. One of those surrounds the time 11:11. Whether it’s in the a.m. or p.m., it gives me a boost when I see that’s what time it currently is. Come to think of it, there are plenty of other number combinations that do much the same.
11:11 – “Make a wish” is the first thing that comes to mind. It’s especially meaningful in the p.m. when military time is 23:11 (23 being my fave number) And another magical time on November 11th (11:11 on 11/11)
22 – This karmic number has come up more than a fair number of times here of late. Being married on the 22nd, divorced on the 22nd one year and nine months later. It’s not always a bad omen, just one I take noticed of. I recently got the number 22 placard at the local cafe’ and the next day, was in room 22 while substitute teaching. That was pretty neat.
59 – My year of birth…self-explanatory
23 – Number of years I worked in the Hickory Public Schools, number of years I was married, both my parents’ ages when I was born, my uniform number in JV baseball in ’75…and no, we didn’t get to pick our numbers, they were assigned….the sum of the last five digits of my social security number….the first two numbers in my social security number…this is the short list.
