5:53 a.m. – February 18th – This is Ash Wednesday, which also marks the first day of the Lenten season. It is customary to “give up” one thing for the season that leads up to Easter Sunday. Once again this year, I’m forgoing social media and focusing on other areas in my life.
Today’s schedule includes substitute teaching in a sixth-grade science class and taking my dad to a doctor’s appointment. I will end the day by attending Ash Wednesday services at church. It should be a full and productive day.
I’ve already taken my shower and gotten dressed for the day. I’ll be going to pick up some breakfast and my usual Starbucks order here in a bit. I’ll then take one last look at the lesson plans for today’s assignment.
At the day’s end, I’m planning on entering a summary of what’s transpired for the day.
