Synchronicity is something that has fascinated me for over the past twenty years. Two distinct events for which there is no cause/effect relationship, coming together as one. This morning I had a mind-blowing synch that I thought worthwhile to share.

This morning, upon first waking, I did my daily ritual of posting the usual posts on social media. And as usual, I looked at several other friends’ posts and saw an ad or two along the way. One of the ads was for a Carl Jung course that one could take. This was not all that an unusual sight to see, as I have always been a big fan of his. But then comes what I’ll call a synchronicity. As I got up from my chair to get dressed for the day, I spied the back of a book haphazardly lying on a table. The book was face down and half of the back cover was bent. I then spied the name “Carl Jung.” It was his well-known book on synchronicity.
What makes this so mind-blowing is that I had looked at that book in a long, long while. Truth be told, it’s written in such a way that it’s a bit hard for me to comprehend. I have no idea why it was lying where it was. My organizational skills leave a lot to be desired and there’s no telling how long it’s been there.
So in an attempt to explain synchronicity, I use a work done by the very person who was its founding father. A synchronicity involving an ad and book about the founder of the concept. Definitely no connection between an ad appearing on social media and a book that had been sitting there for at least three or four months.
Synchronicity indeed! (Insert laugh here)
