Each day unfolds as it will. Although we may have the most-detailed of plans, there are those events that can and will occur that are unforeseen. Then we do the best that we can to deal with those and if necessary, modify our plans.
There are many aspects of our daily lives that we do not have any control over. From the sequence of stoplights on our way to work, to individual behaviors and decisions that others, like ourselves, are in the process of making.
The best we can do is to set our course for the day and be ready to handle any circumstances that find their way into the events of the day. To consider that much of what will occur is bound to be, with or without our permission.
My faith seems to be in short supply with certain areas of my life. All I can do as I start each day is to turn my will and my life over to God’s care and trust Him with the ultimate outcomes. It may not be what I’d like for it to be, but it is what it is.
And the sun will still set at its appointment time and rise once again tomorrow.
