Continuing to Walk Despite the Fear

I am reminded this morning that there are those times our minds are going to be filled with fear. Yet despite those fears, we must continue walking the forward path. It is during some of these times that our greatest gains in faith are to be found.

While I was driving yesterday morning, I heard a “radio preacher” tell of the Israelites’ journey through the desert and how God continued to bless them, even in the midst of their struggle. He supplied them with food, water, and other things they would need during their forty-year journey. The preacher concluding his sermon with “There were blessings from God in the wilderness.”

So during those points in life where fears seem to have a stronghold, we realize we need to continue to move forward, praying to God to lead us to where He would have us to be. It’s an important part of recovery, that third step: “I made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the God of my understanding.”

In this fear-filled day, I will move forward with the knowledge that God is with me and will not abandon me. I need to keep that in mind as I go through my day and keep the faith and trust the journey. May God give us the peace that passes all understanding as we navigate this day.
