Hiatus from Social Media – Day Eight

It’s been over a week now since I’ve been away from social media and as with previous times like these, it’s gotten easier as time goes on. I still miss certain aspects of it all, but know it’s given me an opportunity to do other things that I otherwise wouldn’t be doing.

I’m currently reading a book “All That Remains,” a fascinating read on forensic science. That’s something that I’ve been interested in for quite a while and the book is very well written and looks at the topic from all angles. I’m also rereading a book by Jonathon Spong entitled “A New Christianity” and am gaining new insights that I didn’t get on my first read. Both of these books are highly recommended.

I’m getting ready to begin my second half day of subbing in middle school. Yesterday was a p.m. half day with seventh-grade social studies. Today it’s half a day a.m. with the exceptional children’s program at the same middle school. I won’t be subbing tomorrow and then on Friday, it’s fourth-grade math at an elementary school.

One week from this Friday, March 1st, I’ll be starting yet another interim position, teaching seventh-grade language arts. I’ve been meeting with the teacher whose place I’ll be taking and although it’s been a while since I taught language arts, I’m looking forward to the position.

So that’s a quick wrap of what I’ve been doing and will be doing this week. I’m up and at it here at 6:20 a.m. because middle school starts early in these parts. At least in today’s sub job, it’ll only be half a day and I’ll have the rest of the day to look forward to.
